The Amazon “sweepstakes” idea is brilliant.

Was just wondering if you could mention some of your favorite “newer breed” email marketing software.
Thanks!

That is testing my memory, shows why I should reference things when writing them :).
Here’s a big study we did though based on a lot of data: http://www.getvero.com/resources/guides/100-million-emails/
Might be interesting?

Hi Kenny, totally agree and it definitely depends on the situation. For B2B businesses with a high-touch or multiple-touch sales process lead scoring is very powerful.
For other businesses in the B2C space (and even some doing B2B) segmentation can be just as, if not more powerful. That is, segmenting based on combinations of actions and targeting customers once they enter a single segment or set of segments.
It all depends how you team likes to work…at the end of the day lead scoring is just building a score based on conditions, whilst segmentation is building a group based on conditions!

I’m working in marketing automation for a while now. We implement different MAP’s based on the client needs. What I’m missing in your article is “lead scoring” based on demographics and behavioral information. Once a predefined score is achieved this gives you the ability to eg trigger an alert to a call center or a sales team. It then becomes a highly qualified lead.
