“no shortcuts” as clearly as you stated it in your article to our clients. We
have lost a bunch of pitches for some big contracts against ESPs that promise
thy can warm up IPs in less than a week. I think 4 weeks is the minimum and to
be frank I think it should be more like 6 to 8 weeks to really be safe.
I guess the only way around this is giving clients dedicated
IPs that are not really “virgin”, but moving shared IPs to dedicated IPs. It’s
not an ideal solution, but it is the only one available to offer the impatient
clients a shortcut. Obviously one must be transparent with the client about the
fact the IPs are not virgin and the risks of taking the shortcut (the past
reputation).
