Several months we evaluated a cheaper alternative (Mailer lite), but we found that the deliverability was over 2 times lower compared to Sendgrid. So the “savings” do not cover the lost revenue.

Yes that’s a great point Josh – especially if you don’t have the technical expertise in your team. So many ESPs provide responsive templates too now – which is a huge bonus!

Nice blog not sure I would go with priority sending as a top feature to look for.  I would look at template editor to see if you can easily replicate your brand.
The last thing you want to be doing is spend three days struggling with a template.
